We think a lot. We have opinions. About architecture. About acoustics. And why a really good album hasn’t been released since December 1, 1973 – in other words, Black Sabbath’s fifth studio album. Sometimes it happens. The magic. Protests, songs of praise? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Fellert Hong Kong Cantonese dinner experience
One of many advantages of travelling the world is that you can experience a lot of different kitchens and local dishes.
These pictures are from a very nice Cantonese restaurant in Hong Kong where we had a very nice dinner.
On the menu were Duck tounge, 1000 year eggs & pork belly just to mention a few unusual dishes.

Old heritage buildings doesn’t seldom come with sound problems but there are very few possibilities to correct them as you are limited in what actions to take. You need to preserve the cultural heritage.
This is not a big project, just 120 m2. It is not a remarkable ceiling in any way, but that is exactly the point. Most people would not even discover the Fellert Even Better ceiling in the dining room, but they will for sure hear the difference.
Another example of what we call Great Sound, Good Looks.

Singapore is an amazing city, no doubt about it. While here it was hard not to slip into Raffles for a drink. Even more so to stay away from the surely touristic Singapore sling. Good thing thay managed to make a decent dry martini.

Fellert acoustical ceiling systems can be used in more than large galleries, churches, mosques, hotel vestibules etc. With today’s way of building residential houses, wide open areas, tile flooring and large windows often lead to long reverberation times and a poor sound environment. Suddenly your own home is in need of acoustic treatment.
Few of us are prepared to put up acoustic tiles in our living room so the solution needs to be found elsewhere.
The pictures below are from a Fellert installation in a residential house in Finland.
this is spot on what we mean by Great Sound, Good Looks!

24 h instant Fellert Even Better installation
There are a lot of facilities where you need some kind of acoustical treatment but for design purposes, cultural value purposes etc. you are not able to use many of the different products available, simply because they will change the design too much. Acoustical plaster systems are ideal in the aspect that they can be designed with a great variety of textures, colours and shapes to blend in and match the design you desire. So far so good.
Acoustical plaster systems are normally systems built up of more than one layer of plaster. Therefore they need a bit of planning when installed since you have to include the drying time into the total installation time. When you have more than one layer of plaster you need to let the first layer dry before you can add the next layer. The drying time varies, but 2 – 4 days is not unusual.
This is not an issue at all for surfaces exceeding 500 m2 simply because you can continue to spray new areas while the areas already sprayed gets dry. But for smaller surfaces like in most restaurants, it can be of significant importance. The business can’t be shut down for such a long period of time. They need to have it done much quicker. It is not seldom that this dilemma leads to that they decide to use acoustic tiles instead, or even worse, decides to do nothing at all.
The Fellert Even Better Sahara texture is especially designed for quick installations. It is a one layer system which means that you can do the complete installation in one session and then you are done.

The pictures below are from a restaurant in Copenhagen called Retour Steak. Our Danish representative Mute did the complete installation in less than 24 hours.
this is really an ideal setup if a restaurant is in need of acoustical treatment and want to minimize the time they have to be closed.

Crowded, noisy restaurants are often debated. Some people like peace and quiet others appreciate the “ambience” with a lot of people and a lot of surrounding noise. whatever you prefer is up to you.
If you should be on the west coast of Sweden, preferably in the summer period, make sure to do a stop in Lysekil. This small town situated on the very edge of the cliffs to the sea is a must see and the sea food is excellent.
If you should get hungry while you are there, you could make a stop at Norra Hamnen 5. The view is magnificent and a Fellert Alpha ceiling assures that you can enjoy your meal and the magnificent view in a peaceful and quite atmosphere.
Click here to get to the restaurant web site.
The contractor who has installed the ceiling is P. Chr. Rusch & son AB from Gothenburg.
Leave a replyFellert Even Better is currently installed on Heart of Doha project in Qatar
As i’m just back from a week in Doha Qatar to visit the ongoing Fellert Even Better Silk installation at Msheireb Properties gigantic project Heart of Doha. The Fellert system is installed by InterID as a subcontractor to Hyundai Construction. Although the installation of the almost 15 000 m2 has just started i’d like to share some pictures of it anyway.
And while i was there i took a good walk around the city centre along Corniche road to take some pictures of the area. Although it might be a bit difficult to walk around there due to the heavy traffic and the lack of sidewalks, it well worth it!

Implement is housing the old Tuborg brewery building in Hellerup, Denmark.
The design is done by Lars Larsen Retaildesign for the estate company Aberdeen.
The Even Better ceiling is installed by our Danish representative Mute.
When first started i guess it was very hard to tell what the final result should be like – just see for yourself:
But once it was ready, with more than 700 m2 of Fellert Even Better, it was a beautiful combination of Danish design accompanied with a warm, seamless background where the big chandelier lights casts exiting shadows giving it a unique look. And that is just how it looks…Good job Mute!

www.Fellert.com has been under attack.
During almost 3 Months, fellert.com has been under attack by hackers who have been able to find back doors and manage to redirect the site to various sites with dubious content.
This has been very frustrating for us and it has forced us to make a lot of changes to the fellert.com site to close the ways of getting in.
We have used this opportunity to update the site with new content. From now on you will be able to see all information about the new Even Better series and we have made it easier to navigate on the Facts of Fellert section with all the certificates, detail drawings and tests.
We are also adding a French and Spanish version of the site in a short period of time.
We would like to take the opportunity to apologize for all the inconvenience this may have caused you and we hope that you will appreciate the new and improved fellert.com website. Check it out here!
Hope to do business with you very soon!
Kind regards
the Fellert team.
P.s We would also like to introduce the new Fellert office mascot – the Fellert cow.
